ILY2 + Amanda Ross-Ho
SKIN AND BONES
Amanda Ross-Ho, an interdisciplinary artist and Professor of Sculpture at the University of California, launched her solo exhibition at ILY2 with a performance called "Untitled Figure (THE CENTER OF IT ALL)" at the Lloyd Center Ice Rink. Her exhibit at ILY2, titled “‘ICE TIME’ outlines parallels between the variable logics of arenas that present, record, accumulate, and erase gestures (rink, table top, studio, gallery). Skins, surfaces, and corporeal forms are explored for their response to pressurized and formulaic systems of training and inscription. The body is invoked as a tool, a material, a witness, and a unit of collateral damage.” - ILY2 + Amanda Ross-Ho
PGF collaborated with Amanda Ross-Ho to create a unique ‘SKIN AND BONES’ suit, one worn by her during the performance, and another larger-than-life version that was displayed from floor to ceiling at the ILY2 exhibition.
