PGF Stands with Black Lives Matter

PGF’s Action Steps:

  1. As a B Corp we are committed to donating at least 5% of our profits annually. Moving forward we will be donating exclusively to organizations that serve BIPOC communities in Portland.

  2. We will use our Instagram platform to amplify BIPOC voices by hiring BIPOC designers, artists, activists, & entrepreneurs to do IG takeovers. email us at hello@portlandgarmentfactory.com if you are interested in doing a takeover!

  3. We will add a message to our job postings that states preference will be given to BIPOC applicants. This is in addition to our equal opportunity employer statement. We are committed to reaching & hiring BIPOC applicants.

  4. We are hiring an equity educator to provide our staff with in-depth trainings. We are done navigating this space informally!

  5. We will prioritize BIPOC artists in our Artist-in-Residence program. This has always been part of our AiR program’s mission, but we have fallen short (at this point there have been three AiRs, all white women).

  6. We are developing a plan to reduce our development, design, and prototyping rates for emerging BIPOC designers & entrepreneurs who are trying to get their products off of the ground. More on this soon!

  7. We are actively utilizing our B Corp community for more resources and actions steps. See the Dismantle Collective for more info. We will continue to call each other out when we see or hear racism in our workplace.
