If you aren't familiar with the work of Girls Inc, you can get yourself caught right up HERE! The after school curriculum, based in Portland but now NW wide, works with young girls ages 12-18 to develop healthy behaviors, adopt new life skills and encourage them to reach higher.
PGF had the pleasure of working on the Power of the Purse, the Girls Inc annual benefit. POP is a dynamic event where designers are paired with local celebrities to create a purse (or in our case a backpack or a functional tote) that reflects the vision and lifestyle of the particular celebrity. The purses are then auctioned off to aid the programming.
It was so fun to be honored as designers, paired with the inspirational author Cheryl Strayed in 2013 and the fantastic film director Juliana Lukasik in 2014.
Juliana helped design the ultimate bag for a day in the film industry.
