This Wednesday, our neighbor and customer The Country Cat is participating in Restaurants for Raphael House. On Wednesday 5.18 a portion of all proceeds will go towards local families experiencing domestic violence. The Raphael house provides life-saving emergency shelter and prevention programs for women in our community.
1 in 4 women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime (The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institute of Justice; U.S. Department of Justice - Extent, Nature, and Consequences of Intimate Partner Violence; July 2000). Through outreach, advocacy, education, a 24hr crisis line and support services, Raphael house helps 1200 callers annually, in addition to providing housing and support for 480 women. By attending #R4RH not only are you supporting rad local business, you’re also helping enact social change.
We’re proud to have made The Country Cat’s aprons, and we’re proud to support the Raphael House. Share your experience with the hashtag #R4RH. For a complete list of restaurants participating, click here.
